Hello, im Tom, a photographer who lives in Perth, Western Australia.
Photography has always been a part of my life, from the days of disposable cameras to my first digital point-and-shoot. But it wasn’t until I went traveling in 2014 that I truly discovered my passion for capturing moments—whether through portraits, landscapes, or documenting different cultures. In 2015, I invested in my first “real” camera, and since then, I’ve been on a constant journey of learning and refining my craft.
I focus mainly on portraits and street photography, drawn to the challenge of capturing something genuine—something that lingers beyond a fleeting instant. In portraits, I aim to tell people’s stories through subtle expressions and quiet moments. In street photography, I chase light, movement, and composition, always searching for an unexpected perspective. I love the balance between intention and spontaneity, where even the smallest details—dappled light, a perfectly timed glance, or a quiet moment in a busy street—can make a photograph feel alive.
Like many creatives, I sometimes doubt my abilities or worry about originality, but I’ve come to accept that these feelings are part of the process. The hardest part is often taking that first step—starting a new project, pressing the shutter—but once I do, I get completely absorbed in the moment. Photography isn’t just a passion for me; it’s an essential part of who I am. It challenges me, pushes me to see the world differently, and ultimately brings me a deep sense of fulfilment.
